Growing a Child's Mindset

From the podcast: Growing a Child's Mindset

Consider

Watch When the Chips are Down with Rick LaVoie from PBS (A must see for parents of kids with learning differences and ALL teachers!)

Read Dr. Roberts Brooks' description about how to build an Island of Competence

Reflect

Think about how you praise, promote effort, and help your child (or the child you are working with) learn from their mistakes.

Take Action

Pick out one strategy to focus on this week to build a child's growth mindset.

I also recommend that you spend 5-10 mins of individual one on one time each day with your child. Let them know they matter and that you value them for who they are and all the strengths they have. During this time, you can also help them identify their strengths.

Don't forget that if you want to speak with me in-depth about how your thoughts impact your feelings and what you can do to start changing your thinking, contact me to get more information about my coaching services!

Also, please subscribe to the Lives of Courage newsletter (if you haven't done so already!) for a preview of my upcoming E-book on Mindset and Growth!
